Phew! We survived our busiest Halloween season yet. What a fantastic time we had and more blog posts and photos of all of our events to follow soon. But we’re still in the Day of the Dead spirit, so join us again on Tuesday for more death drawing fun, this time with ROLLER DERBY!
DERBY OF THE DEAD, TUESDAY 5 NOVEMBER 2013
FOR BOOKS’ SAKE and ART MACABRE join forces once again to present an explosive night of derby, drawing, drinking, DJs, death and dancing!
Remember, remember to get your skates on to be part of a night that will celebrate roller derby in all its knicker-blocker-glory. Expect zombie rollergirls and fierce refs posing for you to sketch in a series gloriously gruesome life drawing tableaux. Listen to live readings from DERBY SHORTS short story anthology (a collaboration between For Books’ Sake and London Roller Girls), as these violent and visceral tales from the roller derby track are brought to life on stage by real-life derby models. Whether you’re fresh meat, a derby virgin, or a killer artist- join us for macabre sugar-skull makeovers, sketching fun and storytelling performances from 8-10pm. Followed by DJs and dancing until late!
