We’re excited to announce plans to launch our first SUMMER SCHOOL this August! 15 participants will be able to spend 5 days with Art Macabre, becoming part of our a creative community exploring SKULLS and developing their sketching SKILLS. We hope that taking part will provide an inspiring, challenging and unique drawing experience.

The theme for this first Summer School programme will focus on the theme of ‘SKULLS’, both human and animal, and developing our skeletal sketching skills, as well as the occasional bit of life drawing of the nude figure in the mix too. The main focus will be on ‘The Skull’ though – the foundations of drawing from anatomy and a regular fixture at all Art Macabre events.

We’ll visit some weird and wondrous collections and cabinets of curiosities in London, as field trips to sketch and research at, as well as studio sessions to develop our sketches and ideas into more developed pieces. There’ll be opportunities to meet and hear from some guest artists and speakers. Different techniques and experiments in media from printmaking to embroidery will be encouraged.

All participants will be offered the opportunity to be part of an exhibition this Autumn, to exhibit work created in and inspired by the Summer School.

Plus a deadly afternoon tea to kick things off on the summer school’s first afternoon and get to know one another!

Priced at £75.00, we think that the programme is very good value and aim to remain accessible and affordable to all. Payments can be made in installments.
